Out and about in Paris

We have tried each day to go for a short walk to get some air. There was a necessary trip to Ikea to get a few kitchen gadgets as the kitchen was not well supplied.

A change of plans...While in Bengaluru, Joe got sick and we decided that rather than seeking medical attention in Indian, we would change our plane tickets and head to Paris, where we have been able to rent an apartment in the Latin Quarter near the Sorbonne.  Joe has recovered, but I got sick and have been taking it easy.  So now we begin a French adventure.

Finishing off France - Les Beaux Villages

We finished off the French leg of the trip by visiting a number of lovely villages in the areas of France, bordering the Mediterranean and just north of the Spanish border.   Le Canal du Midi Joe beside the canal near where we spend Easter weekend. The castle at Carcassonne

Sunday: A Day of Rest

Today we took it a little easier, enjoying a wonderful buffet breakfast at our hotel before heading out to Cubbon Park which was created in 1870.  In the park and surrounding it, there were a number of buildings from the colonial days, now being swallowed up by the modern city.  We walked about thirty minutes from our hotel to the park (not a small feat given the traffic and lack of functioning pedestrian crossing lights) and then had a leisurely stroll through the gardens.  Many Bengalureans were doing the same. We also visited an Indian crafts shop on the way to the gardens.   The final photo is from our hotel room.
