I have come to the conclusion that no two French villages are the same. As we set out on our drive west along the Mediterranean, we went to a village with was built on a square plan around a central square. Each of the alleys formed a larger and larger square. The second village we visited, only a few miles away, was built on a circular pattern. After these villages, we headed to the coast and had a short hike along the water. We saw a number of fortifications which had been built by the Italians and the Germans during the Second World War to guard against invasion from across the Mediterranean.
Can you believe all this nougat?
This is an elevator to take you from the parking lot to the village.
Our hotel in Frejus was right in the centre of the old town.
